About Mississippi tides
The northern Gulf runs small, mostly diurnal tides — often just one high and one low a day — where wind and river flow routinely outvote the moon.
Mississippi has 22 NOAA tide stations — 15 reference stations whose predictions come from harmonic analysis of observations there, and 7 subordinate stations calculated from them. The biggest tidal range in the state is at Turkey Creek, Bernard Bayou — 2.0 ft between mean higher high water and mean lower low water.
